What we're building

bucketlistt.com is a curated marketplace for travel and adventure experiences, starting from Rishikesh and expanding city by city. Alongside it we run OkGhumo, the operating system adventure operators use to run their business. Think of what Zomato and Petpooja did for the food industry, or what BookMyShow did for movies, built ground up for adventure experiences in India.

Why this role, why now

There is no accounts team yet. You will be the first, which means you own everything: daily entries, payouts, reconciliations and closing the books. If you want to build a finance function from zero instead of inheriting someone else's, this is it.

Live in 3 cities, with more than Rs. 20 crores of bookings managed in the last 9 months by a very lean team

Not an a**hole. Arrogance is a deal breaker

A doer first. You'll pass every entry and close every account yourself; there's no accounts team to hand things to
A one-rupee mismatch bothers you until it's resolved
Comfortable with uncertainty. We're 0 to 1 and things change weekly

What you'll do

Record daily accounting entries: bookings, refunds, expenses, operator payouts and bank reconciliations
Own closure of financial accounts: monthly closes and final accounts at year end
Handle invoicing, payables, receivables and everything else that comes under accounts
Work with the founders on compliance, filings, audits and investor reporting
Set up simple processes and reports so the founders always know the numbers

Requirements

Solid accounting fundamentals, from a CA articleship, a CA firm stint or a company accounts role
Comfortable with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books or similar) and Excel
Working knowledge of GST and TDS basics
Reliable with numbers and deadlines
Hindi and English

This role is not for you if

You need a team around you to close the books
Approximate numbers don't bother you
You wait for someone to assign you work
